At the Hirsh campaign, we are excited about the changes that are coming to Pennsylvania.
Some of the changes involve the way we use and pay for energy in the Commonwealth. There is a new $650 million Alternative Energy Investment Fund in Pennsylvania. The fund will provide $500 million in grants and loans to implement alternative and renewable energy sources, construct green buildings, help low-income consumers, and promote cleaner energy generators. Additionally, $150 million will support energy-efficiency projects, such as home weatherization. The fund will provide aid to consumers with individual rebates for making energy-efficient choices.
The Department of Environmental Protection, the state agency in charge of the fund, has created an email update system to inform Pennsylvanian consumers and businesses interested in taking advantage of the plan’s rebates and other incentives.
Many of us, the members of the Hirsh campaign, have already signed up to get these updates by registering at www.ahs2.dep.state.pa.us/aeifsignup. We hope that you join us in making sure that consumers are aware of alternative technologies, especially when our pocketbooks are hurting due to rising energy costs.
We also hope that you take the time to Judy’s plan to create a cleaner environment and economy for Pennsylvania. |
